The European 4-in-1 is the basis for many modern chainmaille accessories. It is one of the oldest documented styles of chainmail in the world, verifiably dating back to the Celts around 400 BCE. This style of armor helped the Celts turn back the Roman army time and time again until the Romans themselves decided to adopt the style and bring it back to Italy.
